Fitna website taken offline
The website set up by Geert Wilders’ to host his anti-Koran movie, Fitna, has been suspended by its American hosts Network Solutions.
All that remains on the site is this message:
This site has been suspended while Network Solutions is investigating whether the site’s content is in violation of the Network Solutions Acceptable Use Policy. Network Solutions has received a number of complaints regarding this site that are under investigation. For more information about Network Solutions Acceptable Use Policy visit the following URL: http://www.networksolutions.com/legal/aup.jsp
It is surprising that the investigation should be so complex and time consuming that it was necessary to close the site. It consisted of a single page containing a picture of a Koran, and the words “Geert Wilders presents Fitna. Coming soon”.
Perhaps the complaints were very strongly worded?
(Thanks to Marc)
Phwoooooosh. See that – that was freedom of speech blowing off into the sunset.
Eh?

Has that page been hacked?
@Chris: that’s not Geert’s website. I think that’s a copy.
Nice bit of instant folding, Network Solutions!
“@Chris: that’s not Geert’s website. I think that’s a copy.”
No, that wasn’t what I meant – that .co.uk website says that Fitna isn’t a real film but the whole thing in an April Fool’s joke.
But now I see that from Geert’d blog that this site is a also a joke 🙂
Dutch Muslim broadcaster offers to air Fitna, Wilders refuses:

I suppose we’ve got to be prepared for the fact that Wilders is doing this as a huge, huge wind-up.
Dunno if he needs to do it as a wind up – although that’s possible ScaryDuck. I’ve seen him on Youtube talking about the Koran (Qu’ran, whatever!) and he’s pretty outspoken about it and Mo. I doubt he could offend more Muslims if he tried. I’m amazed they haven’t issued a fatwank against him already in fact.
UPDATE: Not a hoax after all!
