MediaWatchWatch was set up in January 2005 in reaction to the religious campaign against the BBC's broadcasting of Jerry Springer: the Opera.
We keep an eye on those groups and individuals who, in order to protect their beliefs from offence, seek to limit freedom of expression. And we make fun of them.
If you have any information, email The Monitor.
Other than whining about secularism engulfing the country and reducing the voice of the church to a ‘whisper’, the Christian Party website gives little information about their policies, except for Rev George ‘So Macho’ Hargreaves’ anti-euthenasia stance. Could it be because they actually have quite a lot in common with the BNP?
Yes, somebody should also tell the designer that a semi colon is not a partial removal of the lower intestine.
Make that ‘euthanasia’. I was temporarily under a bad influence…
How on earth can your selling point be: “We can beat the BNP”? They hardly get any votes, and even with a swing in their favour, are hardly poised to take control of local and national government! However, when you read the small print on their site, you find that what they are actually saying is, “With a lot of effort we may be able to come fifth instead of sixth this time (in one borough), thus leapfrogging the BNP”!!
[…] MediaWatchWatch has some fun with the dodgy sentence structure (I suggest an en rule after “BNP); Harry’s Place scoffs at the claim, and notes Hargreaves’ Christian Right agenda – I blogged his anti-gay views here. He also once famously declared that environmental protections against overfishing should be scrapped because there is “a supernatural element in the restoration of fish to our seas”. […]
If there’s more than one BNP, their sentence is a proper sentence.
The BNP and CP trying to out-christian each other – what a joke; at least it will show them up as the bigots both parties are. There will be a few morons who vote for the CP but fortunately not enough to make any difference. Lost deposits all round!
@Angela K, The only people who voted for him last time round were Sid and Doris Bigot of Plaistow, and she had been dead for six months by all accounts!
No on eseems to have mentioned how funny your caption is, so I will!
[…] Finally… MediaWatchWatch Has the Christian Party election […]
I’ve also blogged about a Christian Party poster that has a slogan that wouldn’t look out of place on a BNP poster.
The Christian Republic Of Britain
Looks as if they failed miserably to beat ANY of the BNP parties then!
