Life of Brian strikes again

The classic Monty Python film, Life of Brian, still manages to upset some of the world’s more slow-witted Christians. The Anglican St Thomas the Martyr Church in Newcastle is set to screen the film as part of a scheme to show movies in unusual locations. And fair play to them, you might think.

However, one Carmarthenshire-based fundamentalist has reacted badly to the news:

I cannot see why any church would want to ridicule our Saviour.

Can you guess who it is?

Bizarrely the story is reported by a Welsh news website despite he fact that the event is happening in Newcastle.

Are they really just taking his comments as news by themselves?

  2. Andrew Nixon says:

I suspect Dogshit Green would react badly to the location where I first saw Life of Brian – an RE lesson when I was 12.

I saw The Life Of Brian at the Empire in London (I think) on it’s release. I was screemed at that I would burn in hell and that I was a satanist, I was 15 years old. Very nice these Christians.

They showed the film at the local church last year. Went down a storm. The Church Of England has also recommended the film to churchgoers. And th myspace.com/isthisjesus page, which was used for Christmas Christian ads, has the film as a bit of a favourite.
