Neighbours

US broadcasters ABC are planning a new reality TV show called Welcome to the Neighborhood in which seven families move into a genteel suburban cul-de-sac. The white families who live there choose who gets to stay from potential neighbours that include gay, minority and heavily tattooed couples.

Christian action groups Focus on the Family and the American Family Association have criticised the show. According to Steve Jordahl, correspondent for FotF,

The ABC summer reality show “Welcome to the Neighborhood” portrays Christians as bigoted, self-righteous and judgmental.

So rather than sit back and let Satan’s minions in the media elite attack their godly values, they urge action to get the evil show taken off the air. Tim Wildmon, president of the American Family Assiciation:

Find out who the advertisers are and contact the advertisers… That’s the best way to impact a television program or series.

Then, in a flash of what could almost be mistaken for self-awareness, he adds,

Be careful that in your calls to ABC and its sponsors you don’t become the stereotype you’re protesting.

How to raise money – fast

Christian Voice are holding a “Day of Prayer and Fasting for National Repentance” tomorrow at St Michael’s Church, Chester Square, Belgravia from 10.30am to 4.30pm. Admission is free, but “an offering will be taken”.

Water will be available.

Says the charity-blackmailing Stephen Green, enticingly.

The event is not an extremely cost-effective way to raise funds for CV’s blasphemy prosecution against the BBC. On the contrary, as explained in the e-mail circular to supporters,

This is all about seeking the face of the Lord to ask Him what we can do
to stand up for the Lord Jesus Christ in our day. Personally, I want to
be like Isaiah, crying out: “Here am I, send me!” We shall be praying
to stay within His purpose and to demonstrate the seriousness of our
prayers by making ourselves available for Him to use.

We wonder what God is going to tell Stephen to do next?
